Will be slowing down the live show schedule way down so we can record so it'll probably be one of the last chances for locals to catch us live for the rest of the year.

Summer Update

Was gently reminded on tour to continue updating the website ... Sorry! Seems to be more convenient to update via Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/garrinchamusic -- like us!) but I will try to keep both avenues open as this blog allows me to post stuff that's hard to do on Facebook.

Both tours were great. Met so many amazing people & played w/ excellent artists all along the way. Thanks to everyone that came out and everbody who played w/ us. Would love to do it again soon.

Tonight is a hometown show in Sacramento @ Luigi's Fun Garden w/ the Polyps (Eggy Records), Carter Mullin (Reedbeds) and the Kevin Corcoran / Wes Steed duo. Should be excellent.

We're also playing Sept 3rd in Davis, CA w/ Rene Hell and Earn. Most likely, that will be our last live show of 2011 as we focus on writing and recording.

PDX/Seattle Tour Debrief

This update is a little late but man, we had a blast playing a couple shows in Portland and Seattle. Met so many awesome folks & played w/ a bunch of amazing acts. There's so much excellent music happening these days, I think folks will look back at this time and just marvel at all the action going down.

I had some other photos on my phone of our trip but can't figure out how to get them off there so this one pic will have to do.

Our new album, Void, is in production. Test pressings sounded great and hopefully the LP/CD will be here in a few weeks. Then it's a national tour in July -- check dates to the left of the screen.

New Tape Out On Stunned Records

Garrincha & The Stolen Elk "We Were Wyoming" c20 (Stunned Records)

We are beyond stoked to have this release come out on Stunned Records. Big thanks to all the Frenchies @ Stunned HQ. This set is actually an older batch of songs from a few years back and features the ever-mighty Kevin Corcoran on drums and Karlos Ayala on bass.

Stunned tapes never stick around for long ... you can snag some from their web site if you move fast. Otherwise, try Discriminate, Tomentosa or Eclipse. I'm sure we'll get band copies soon and maybe sell them on the Weird Forest web site.

Up next, full-length LP/CD/digital album on Weird Forest this summer + national tour in July. Stay tuned!
